It's mounting has a well shaped rubber buffer, so no matter how hard you ride, it's not likely to suddenly snap off. The hooks are solid, and even though 2 rubber straps attach it to the bike, there's a mounting bracket specifically for racks, and the rounded shape mimics a post rail, so the rubber buffer sits snuggly, and securely. I hear no rattling like with other strap on lights, and I have no concerns of it breaking, or falling off. There's 3 modes, steady (bright), "superflash" (basically strobe light), and "courtesy" (which is your efficiency mode). Courtesy turns on 2 red lights at the ends continuously, and the bar in between turns on and off like a warning light. It saves energy, while still getting peoples attention, without giving them a seizure.
